Coffee is a powerful thing. It can wake you up, calm you down, start your morning right, or wrap up a relaxing evening. Coffee can bind friendships together over intimate conversations or fuel an office team during an ambitious project. Coffee is personal: your signature drink can say a lot about you and if you've been in the coffee-drinking ring for a while, you may have honed your perfect order over years of experimentation.
We at Sacred Grounds understand the magic of coffee. We're passionate about it and we know you don't mess with a good cup of joe, that's why we ensure you get coffee from the best sources, such as Chicago Coffee Roastery.
Hailing from the nearby northwest Chicago suburbs, Chicago Coffee Roastery is known for their small-batch, top-grade coffee beans. Each batch is ground to order and shipped the same day as grinding to ensure freshness. Chicago Coffee Roastery offers fairtrade and certified organic beans, both of which Sacred Grounds buys.
When Chicago Coffee Roastery finds a new bean or blend they would like to offer their customers, they always test or "cup" the roast to ensure no defects, sour tastes, or wrong aromas. For coffee blends that contain flavouring, Chicago Coffee Roastery uses oil based flavors that contain no sugars, calories, or gluten. In their roasting process, the Chicago Coffee Roastery uses a Sivetz Fluid Bed Roaster. Fluid bed roasters only allow for small batches, merely three per hour, but ensure the best cup of coffee possible creating a quiality of grind that far surpasses large batch roasters.
